RED RIVER REVIVAL Calls It Quits

February 23, 2010

RED RIVER REVIVAL, the band featuring former members of SUPERJOINT RITUAL and ARTIMUS PYLEDRIVER, entered Philip Anselmo's (DOWN, PANTERA, SUPERJOINT RITUAL) recording studio in Louisiana last year to begin laying down tracks for its debut album for release via Anselmo's Housecore Records. The group has since issued the following update:

"Through writing and recording this album together, artistic differences started to pop up along the way.

"It's been a blast, but RED RIVER REVIVAL are splitting ways due to the differences.

"There is absolutely no bad blood between any of us. We respect the hell out of each other as musicians and as good, honest people.

"For fans of the music, no fear! Side projects and demos are already rolling and we will be leaving [our MySpace] page up to keep everyone updated on those!

"Thanks to everyone involved and everyone who came out to the shows! Be patient, the new projects will be well worth the wait!"

In a 2008 interview with Nonelouder, vocalist Dave Slocum stated about the band's sound, "RED RIVER REVIVAL is boogie rock! Lots of melody and soul, preachin' and hollerin'. Heavy blues is what I think best describes us. Kevin Bond [ex-SUPERJOINT RITUAL] has written some really cool stuff, very ZZ TOP. Kevin didn't write any of the SUPERJOINT stuff, so I think people will be surprised to hear what style he actually represents. People are already saying that RED RIVER REVIVAL is better than ARTIMUS."

RED RIVER REVIVAL was:

Dave Slocum - Vocals
Kevin Bond - Guitar
Miles Griffin - Guitar
Brad Kemp - Bass
Joey Robertson - Drums
